Board Chair: Lisa Jones
Lisa Jones joined the Board in 2019, bringing strategic planning, policy, communication, legal and governance skills. Mum to Jasper (Year 4), she is looking forward to working with other Board members and families to build on the strong community spirit for which the school is known and think up new ways to make it an even richer experience for all.
Lisa spent 15 years working overseas with international humanitarian aid organisations. On returning to Australia, after a very brief stint in private equity, she worked with the Victorian government on emergency management reforms and creating a more diverse and inclusive sector. Lisa is now Managing Partner at Synergistiq, a consulting firm that measures social impact. She is also the Chair of Scarf, a social enterprise that supports young people in need of protection, or from refugee and migrant backgrounds, who face barriers to work.
One of her career highlights is becoming coach to the St Joey’s Giants Silver Bullets. So proud. Go team!
Board Member: Kristin Edmonds
Kristin and her husband, Ben, are delighted to be part of the St Joseph’s community with their two daughters – Seraphine in Year 2 and Isabelle in Year 5. Originally from San Francisco, Kristin currently works as the Managing Principal for a strategic advisory firm. Families seek her counsel when designing complex investment frameworks, managing family dynamics, navigating the transfer of wealth and multi-generational succession planning.
Kristin is also passionate about building financial literacy for women and enjoys giving back to her community. In addition to the St Joseph’s School Board, she also serves on the Australian Ballet Ambassadors Board and enjoys contributing to the Stanford Alumni Network by interviewing prospective students in Australia who are interested in attending her alma mater.
Board Member: Paul Hicks
My family and I have had the good fortune of being part of the St Joseph’s community since 2015. My career to date has covered a range of roles across a variety of industries including Chartered Accounting, Local Government, Banking, Media and Wine, making me something of a jack-of-all-trades. In my current role as Direct to Consumer Operations Manager at Treasury Wine Estates I oversee the disparate functions of systems, analytics, consumer relations, warehouse, logistics, product and inventory. This breadth of experience and perspective will I hope enable me to make a constructive contribution toward the Board’s initiatives.
Board Member: Andrew Van De Gumster
Andrew joined the board in 2019 and currently serves as the Chair of the Sustainability Committee. He has nearly 30 years work experience, consisting of a blend of time in the Royal Australian Air Force, assorted corporate leadership roles in the supply chain/ICT space and working in his own business since 2002.
Along with wife Amy and two beautiful children (Maddie 7 and Loki 5) life is very busy. Andrew is really looking forward to working with Simon and his team, the Parents and Friends and, of course, the other board members in supporting the school community.
Board Member: Jim Cardin

Shae joined the Board in 2019, bringing her accounting and risk advisory skills. Shae and her husband, Brendon, have four children with three currently attending St Joseph’s (Hugo, Year 5, Lucia Year 3, Allegra, Prep and Benedict, starting in 2023!) and she is looking forward to playing a key role in the school community by contributing to the Board’s initiatives.
Shae is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years’ experience in professional services both in Australia and overseas and is currently a Director at Deloitte. She specialises in the area of Forensic, conducting fraud, corruption and misconduct investigations and advisory. In recent years she has worked for a number of clients in the education sector which has provided useful insight into the business operations of educational institution and an understanding of some of the challenges faced, particularly around the areas of procurement and capital expenditure.


Peta and her husband, Alan, moved from Perth to Melbourne, with their two children, Isabel (4D) and Tom (2M), in 2019 and were delighted to join the St Joseph’s community. Having been a board member at Isabel and Tom’s school in Perth she was excited to have the opportunity to join the board at St Joseph’s in 2019.
Peta has had over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, working as an Engineer and Sustainability Consultant. She has led the design on a number of high-profile buildings around Australia to ensure new and refurbished commercial buildings are design and constructed in a more environmentally sustainable manner.
Peta is looking forward to contributing to the Board’s initiatives and assisting the school continue and strengthen its sustainability focus.
